Fiona J Meadows studied dramatic art before returning to her love of fine art. She revels in exploring a variety of media in her work, has a fascination with humans and a love of colour. She finds expression through painting, drawing and mixed media to interpret the inner essence of the subject matter she is inspired by, from theatre and mythology to global politics.

Fiona’s work is typically characterised by distinctive mark-making which she instinctively combines with shapes, colours, found images or textures to create a play between the abstract and the figurative, the observed and the imagined, the conscious and the subconscious.

Fiona lives on a mountainside in Cape Town with her husband, two daughters and three friendly creatures.
